I am an editorial designer (or what I jokingly describe as designer of newspapers) based in Sofia, Bulgaria. I received my formal training in linguistics (Scandinavian studies) and service design but my true passion is editorial design ⏤ I like to think that's the perfect combination of the two.
I started my design practice in graphic design, then moved on to UX/UI design to finally arrive into the world of product/service design.

This sounds trite but I don't believe in ceilings ⏤ I'm a work-in-progress in virtually everything I do and I always look at every experience as a way to learn more and achieve better.

MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

For me, design, before anything else, is an instrument to analyse society and encourage important ⏤ and often controversial conversations.
Design is a form of artistic endeavour and as such, it should stimulate people to think critically about the societies they live in, ask questions and most of all, encourage constructive public debate.

I am a very opinionated person. I have strong convictions which are usually easy to spot in my work ⏤ be it in my designs or in my writing. I have a critical mindset, I like to question and scrutinise norms and views which have become popular, especially such that have a great social relevance.
I write as a hobby. Writing about topics that interest me, helps me understand them better, and question my own perspectives on reality and truth. Even though I'm critical and have strong opinions, I'm always open to be persuaded otherwise or proven wrong so long it's done in good faith.

About me
I am an editorial designer based in Bulgaria. I love animals, especially cats, tattoos, and almost anything black and white. When I'm not designing, I read, write, drive, watch documentaries, listen to podcasts, and talk to people about random and not so random stuff.
My mission
I'm on a mission to help truly independent journalism get to people in a comprehensive and visually-appealing format, so that they can form their opinions freely and make decisions based on honest and truthful reporting.
What is editorial design?
Simply put, editorial design is the design of magazines, newspapers, books, and other media publications, be it print or digital. In other words, it's the visual representation of journalism and information intended for public use.
